History Of Surtees TS8-014 

Built 1971 and used as spare car during 1971 and start of 1972 season

Sold to John Campbell in late 1972

Bought by Nick Overall in 1973 raced in Jaybrand Formula Libre Series until 1976

Sold to Jim West and used until 1986 for sprints in Wales

Bought by Ian Higgins who kept it until 1989 but it was not run by him in either races or sprints.

It was bought in 1989 by Rick Hall who totally rebuilt it and raced it in HSCC and other events in UK and abroad until I bought it in 1993

The car is complete and ready to race with FIA Papers and current crack test certificates

There are nearly new slicks on 3 piece rims (spun type ) and good wets on original Surtees wheels(also 3 piece but cast)

The engine is a genuine 5 litre Chevrolet with Brodix  alloy heads built by Engine Data Analysis with

Nascar type rocker gear,48 IDA carbs,triple plate clutch,it has done about 300 miles since it was last topped and tailed and should be good for at least 1000 before any work is required

The gearbox is a DG and was rebuilt at the end of 2003 and has only done a test at Silverstone since.

Spares with the car include

Full set of ratios for every possible circuit in carrying case

Front and rear uprights(the rears are brand new )

2 new brake discs

Distributor cap, fuel pump ,ignition pack ,new brake pads
